ARKITEK ICB SDN. BHD

Our Story

Ikatan Cipta Bina (ICB) was incorporated in 1982, a combination of two Sole Proprietorships, Ciptabina Tempatan (Kuala Lumpur) and Ciptabina Arkitek (Alor Setar). In 2006, ICB was restructured from partnership to corporate body in form of Arkitek ICB Sdn. Bhd. The restructuring was necessary in line with the Partnership’s future expansion which the founders were charting.

Today those charted courses have been traversed and Arkitek ICB Sdn. Bhd. ( AICBSB) is now enroute for further growth with the beginning of the new millennium.Arkitek ICB Sdn. Bhd. also celebrated its 25th anniversary in the year 2006. Accumulating extensive experience throughout the years, the company expands tremendously with rising number of partners and branch offices. The recent launch of its international branch in Dubai 2007 depicts its first step towards globalization.

AICB Headquarters is based in Kuala Lumpur and acts as the central accounts and administration office. The Headquarters do not run any projects. Instead, all projects are run by the various branches. Each branch is managed by qualified and experienced partner. The number of staff for each branch varies with the projects in hand. Whenever AICBSB secures a big project (above 60 million in value), the works are outsourced to other branches.

Philosophy

To each, his own. A simple time proven phrase which reflects the architectural belief Ikatan Cipta Bina hold to a belief that architectural designs should incorporate the local culture nurtured by the local climate and materials to reflect a local identity.

Malaysia for example possesses a rich diversity of architectural design which were inherited from the vast Malay Archipelago. Cultures and sub-cultures which exist then and still do now, leaves a legacy which should be studied and incorporated. With the added Chinese and Indian cultures and designs, and those that has been acclimatised into the Malaysian environment, architectural design in Malaysia should offer an almost exquisitely refined touch of the Master Builders of years after years.

This is the group design philosophy of Ikatan Cipta Bina. With a large pool of talented partners and staff with considerable experience in Urban and Regional Planning, Landscape Design as well as Interior Design, Ikatan Cipta Bina has been able to provide a multi-faceted architectural design whichis not only aesthetically pleasing but practical and cost effective.
